Converting colours in supplied artwork

featured-image-4

We’ve recently had a few problems with spot colours turning up in our print documents.

When we ran a pre-flight report the culprit for these spot colours appears to have been from customer supplied files within our artwork file.

If you get supplied a vector file to use in artwork, check it has a CMYK colour breakdown as you can’t trust the designer who produced it in this way. Some logos are created using all sorts of colour mark up, including: RGB, Spot, Lab, etc.

Convert all your assets to CMYK FIRST! and you will be safe in the knowledge your document will be safe for print.
